Description

when birds sing

sometimes
when birds sing
I can almost understand what they’re saying
if I listen hard enough
they seem to be singing from inside of me
hopping from bone to bone
pointing their beaks at my spine
that buried tree microphone

I think they’re trying to teach me how to fly
but I’m too heavy
even my thoughts weigh too much
listen
