About the author

An honorary research fellow, School of english and Media Studies, Massey university, Dell Panny has taught new Zealand literature at the Christian-Albrechts university of Kiel where she was a guest professor. Her books include I Have What I Gave: The Fiction of Janet Frame (Daphne Brasell associates (1992), George Braziller New York (1993) & Dunmore Press (2002)); Turning the Eye: Patricia Grace and the Short Story; Unfurling: Poems; John Bevan Ford: Paintings and Plume of Bees: a literary biography of C K Stead.
